The boy pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to stealing a Honda City Express auxiliary cycle on November 17 and riding under age. He was only 15 at the time.

Prosecuting Sgt. Earl Kirby told the court that on November 17 at 11.45 p.m.

Police on patrol on East Broadway saw the boy travelling east on the cycle, which is valued at $2,368, with no lights on and a painted licence plate.

"The officers pulled him over and asked him who owned the bike but he said he didn't know,'' Sgt. Kirby said.

He added that the boy also told Police he was under age and had found the bike on the tracks.

The officers later discovered that the bike was reported stolen from the City Hall parking lot earlier that evening.

Acting Magistrate the Wor. Edward King told the teenager he was putting him on probation for two years with conditions that he be in his home from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. unless he was accompanied by his father.

"Your father is going to be your security guard,'' Mr. King said.
