the air after a collision with a bike on Palmetto Road.

The accident occurred near the crash scene involving tragic Devonshire teenagers Stephen Smith and Jeffrey Evans.

Fair-haired Antonio was one of hundreds of youngsters who started out to school yesterday.

Armed with his satchel, he was crossing the road with his mom when the collision occurred at about 8.30 a.m.

"He flipped a couple of feet in the air, before falling on his head,'' said Ms Jocelyn Taylor, of Roberts Avenue, Devonshire. "He's my only child and I was so worried for him. At the time all he seemed worried about was getting to school.'' Antonio was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but released after treatment for a pulled neck muscle.

He was later allowed to begin his first day at Prospect Primary School.

Yesterday he recalled: "When the bike hit me everthing went blank.'' Ms Taylor said she and her son were crossing the road at an intersection when the accident happened.

"I deliberately crossed there so that all the traffic could see us. It all happened so quickly.'' Police spokesman Sgt. John Dale said a 19-year-old Devonshire youth had been questioned by Police.

The teenager would be appearing in court shortly.
