Gold and silver coins produced for the last Royal visit in 1975 topped $1 million in sales.

Finance Minister the Hon. Dr. David Saul revealed that the Philatelic Bureau and the Bermuda Monetary Authority had been approached to produce commemorative coins and stamps for the visit next year.

Dr. Saul said the visit should be a "boon for the economy'' in many ways including sales of the stamps and coins.

An official party from Buckingham Palace left the Island yesterday after touring potential sites for the Queen to visit during the trip between March 8-10.

Deputy Governor Mr. John Kelly took the visitors to various locations during an intensive investigation that lasted some hours.

The guests included security advisors scrutinising the sites in case of possible dangers.

The Queen will visit the Island as part of a tour of the Caribbean, including Guyana and Belize.

Mr. Kelly said that Government House has been requesting a Royal visit for some years because it is nearly two decades since the last visit.

But he said that the officials were keeping details secret until the middle of December except that the Queen will be meeting the Mayor of Hamilton the Rt.
