Kendrick Zuill, 16, of Deepdale Road, Pembroke, admitted using offensive words in Dundonald Street, Hamilton, in September.

And he came under fire from the Wor. John Judge who said: "Respectable citizens have a right to go about their business without having their ears assaulted by this type of language.'' The incident happened at 12.15 a.m. on September 23. Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said that Police officers were on patrol in Dundonald Street when they saw Zuill.

Sgt. Osborne said: "He appeared to be looking in the direction of the officers and he asked them why, in no uncertain terms, they were looking at him.'' Zuill continued to use expletives even after his arrest. He told the court: "I was not swearing at the Police. Something had been stolen from my house and I was angry.'' Mr. Judge said: "It does not matter to who you were addressing the words at the time.

"What concerns me is that a young person like you was wandering about the streets at that time of night. If I was out at that time of night, when I was your age, I would have had a lot of explaining to do when my father caught up with me.'' Mr. Judge ordered a social inquiry.

Earlier Zuill admitted driving without due care and driving while disqualified on Mullet Bay Road, in St. George's. He was fined a total of $200 and disqualified until March 18, 1995.
