Three men deny murdering Jermaine Pitcher
Three men denied murdering Jermaine Pitcher in February during the Supreme Court arraignment session before Chief Justice Austin Ward yesterday.
Ryan Ball, Jamal Robinson and Keneil Ingham, all of Warwick, entered their pleas in the case for the first time and will be tried on September 11. They were remanded in custody until then.
Also appearing were three men charged with separate sexual offences.
A 40-year-old Warwick man denied four sexual offences related to his daughter between 1997 and 1999. He will be tried on August 7.
The man is charged with sexual exploitation, while in a position of trust, of a minor by touching her with a part of his body between August 31, 1997 and January 21, 1998, and inciting her to touch him between those dates.
He also denied sexually assaulting her between January 22, 1998 and May 31, 1999, and committing incest between August 31 and October 1, 1997.
The man was freed on bail and was represented by lawyer Richard Horseman.
A 25-year-old Pembroke man denied one count of serious sexual assault on a woman on February 19 and will be tried on August 14. He was released on bail.
A 37-year-old Warwick man was further remanded in custody until he is tried for serious sexual assault, robbery and housebreaking on July 5 last year.
It is alleged he used a knife in the course of the robbery and sexual assault.
He will be tried on June 26.
None of the three men's names can be published for legal reasons.
After robbing a woman of $500 more than a year ago, Calvin Leonard Richardson, 31, will hear on May 15 when he will be sentenced for his crime.
Senior Crown Counsel Brian Calhoun and lawyer Marc Telemaque both admitted the case had "some history'' with an unnecessary psychologist's report being ordered instead of the required psychiatric report.
Richardson paced and gestured while in the defendant's dock throughout his appearance. He took the money from Donna Simmons on March 31, 1999.
Mr. Justice Ward set the case down for mention and ordered that a "reminder'' be sent to the psychiatrist to produce the report.
Winslow Edward Williams will be brought back to court on July 24 for trial on charges he allegedly committed a series of break ins.
Williams, 32, of East Shore Road, Sandys, was remanded in custody until then.
