Principal Mr. Bernard Beacroft told The Royal Gazette more than 200 students have applied to attend either the primary or secondary level of the school which will become completely private in September.

"Our original intention was to have one form entry (25 places) at the primary level,'' Mr. Beacroft said. "But now that we've gathered applications over recent months, the number of applications (to primary one level) is exceeding 100, so we thought we would offer two primary one classes.'' To accommodate the increase at the primary one level, Warwick Academy decided to reduce the primary seven level to one form entry.

The school has also received more than 100 applications from students hoping to be accepted at the secondary level.

A total of 75 places will be available at the secondary year one level and students are required to pass the school's secondary entrance exam before they can be considered.
