Olivia Velina Nesbitt, of Devon Springs, pleaded not guilty to the charge in Magistrates' Court. She also denied making a false statement to Police.

Sgt. Earl Kirby, prosecuting, told the court that on December 2 last year Nesbitt attempted to persuade an employee of Colonial Insurance to pay her $5,000 for a car she claimed had been stolen.

The matter was set down for trial on February 2, 1994. Nesbitt was granted bail in the sum of $300.
