A 16-year-old was punched in the jaw by two men who demanded cash. Police are investigating the incident which happened as the St. George's teenager was walking along Wesley Street, in Hamilton, on Monday. He told Police that he was approached from behind by two unknown young men and was punched in the jaw.

They demanded money, but left the scene empty-handed. The victim was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

He described one suspect as a dark skinned male of slim build with shoulder length dreadlocks wearing a black jacket with yellow stripes and the other as a light skinned male of slim build with short hair. Both were approximately 5ft 5 ins and appeared to be in their late teens.

Police probe East Broadway accident

Police are investigating an accident when a 16-year-old bike rider collided with a man as he tried to cross the road.

The accident happened on Crow Lane, near Great Things, on Monday and a Police spokesman said it appeared the auxiliary cycle was travelling west when two pedestrians attempted to cross the road.

The 16-year-old rider of the auxiliary cycle sustained facial injuries while the pedestrian, a 43-year-old Smith's man, sustained head injuries as well as abrasions to his hands and knees."

Police issue witness appeal in tourist's death

Police are renewing an appeal for any information about a crash that claimed a tourist's life last week.

The accident happened on November 17, on Pender Road, Sandy's, when 33-year-old Baltimore native, Bethany Heinrichs, appeared to collide with the roadside kerb.

Police are interested in speaking with the driver of a white coloured taxi who was driving west on Pender Road, into Dockyard.

The taxi driver or anyone who may have seen a white coloured taxi around 1.50 p.m. should contact PC Lesa Stovell at the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
