Bikes and cars damaged in fire
A fire broke out at a Pembroke home destroying seven motorbikes and two cars.
The blaze started after 5 a.m. on Sunday at the St. John's Road home, only hours after a fire broke out in an Anchorage Lane, St. George's home.
The Pembroke fire burned the motorbikes down to their steel frames and soot and ash covered the patio area of the building.
Two cars were severely burned, but not as bad as the bikes and the side of the apartment building was also burned.
One man who witnessed the fire said he didn't know how it started, saying: "There were no injuries and nothing was damaged inside. Everybody was asleep. It was all caught in time."
He continued: "Fire Services responded very timely. I got woken up and they were already here. They were very prompt. I was very pleased. The fire was out very quickly. It wasn't much to it."
The residents of the apartments are said to be from Eastern Europe and did not speak any English.
Meanwhile the fire in St. George's at midnight on Saturday caused smoke damage, but no one was injured.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said last night that an investigation into the cause of the Pembroke fire is underway.
