Number One Park will be reopened to the general public for parking within the next few weeks.

The Corporation of Hamilton said a small recreational area would be included, with trees and flowers on the Front Street side, and a grass verge and additional seating on the waterfront side.

Bathrooms will be available from the start of Harbour Nights tonight.

Mayor Sutherland Madeiros said in a statement: "The Corporation of Hamilton Members are pleased with the changes that have been made to the parking area as it greatly enhances the aesthetics along Front Street. It is anticipated the landscaping will be completed in time for the arrival of the tall ships."
