The 25-year-old man was not required to enter a plea in Magistrates' Court as Senior Magistrate, the Wor. Will Francis bound the matter over to the Supreme Court and bailed the man in the sum of $1,000.

Mr. Francis also granted Crown Counsel Mr. Diarmuid Doorly's request a for a no-contact condition to be applied to the bail.

The defendant will reappear in Magistrates' Court for mention in two weeks.

DRIVER LOSES STOP SIGN APPEAL CTS A driver found guilty of ignoring a stop sign appealed against the conviction to the Supreme Court this week.

Roseann Jackson, of Cricket Lane, Sandys was convicted by Magistrate the Wor.

Wilhelm Bourne last May.

She told Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward that Mr. Bourne was wrong in convicting her of the offence at Watlington Road West.

"I stopped prior to this stop sign, at a place where I could read the traffic mirror and make an informed decision.

"I stopped at the stop sign but not where the gentleman wanted me to stop.'' The Judge told Jackson there was no valid reason in law for interfering with the Magistrate's decision, and dismissed the appeal.

CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR MEN CTS Two men who were involved in a fight on Court Street were given a two-year conditional discharge in Magistrates' Court this week.

Andre K. Hypolite, 22, of no fixed abode and Albert E. Allen, 27 of East Gate Lane Pembroke pleaded guilty to fighting.

Prosecuting Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on July 14 at 2.30 a.m., plain clothes officers saw Hypolite and Allen engaged in a fight on Court Street.

"Hypolite was fighting with a walking cane and Allen had a pipe,'' Insp.

Duffy said.

"Spectators were spilling into the road while the two fought in the middle of the street interrupting the flow of traffic.

"The officers drove up to the men and separated them. Allen sustained a cut on his forehead.'' Acting Magistrate the Wor. Michael Smith gave the men a conditional discharge for two years.
