Dennis Rahiim Watson honoured by The Bronx
Bermudian anti-gang activist Dennis Rahiim Watson was honoured in New York for his 'Stop The Violence' campaign.
Mr. Watson was presented with a citation of merit from Ruben Diaz Jr., President of the borough of the Bronx.
He was given the award on Monday. The certificate said: "In recognition of your years of stewardship and commitment to our community. As the Chairman of the National Youth and Gang Violence task force and President of the Centre for Black Student Achievement, you have been an outstanding role model and leader.
'You have shared your knowledge with the youth of the Bronx and many others by being a well known motivational speaker addressing the important issues faced by the black and Latino community such as unemployment, racism, conflict resolution, self-respect and much more."
