Devonshire man fined for swearing at Police officers
A 24-year-old pleaded guilty to swearing at Police and obstructing justice after a fight outside Docksiders Pub on Sunday morning.
Police were called to the Front Street bar at 2.25 a.m.
Crown counsel Robert Welling told Magistrates' Court Antoine Brangman swore at the officers and said: "What you mean? That's my boy. What the f**k?"
He persisted, despite warnings by Police, and was arrested.
Brangman, of Valley Heights, Devonshire, told officers his name was 'Kyle' and also gave a false date of birth at Hamilton Police Station.
Yesterday he was charged in Magistrates' Court for swearing at Police and obstructing justice by giving false information.
He pleaded guilty and was fined $800 for the first offence and $1,000 for the second.
Mr. Welling also told Magistrates' Court Brangman had an outstanding warrant for possessing 1.5 grams of weed on January 29, 2006.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him $1,000.
