Lennett (Lennie) Edwards.

Also named as a defendant in the suit is Magistrate the Wor. John Judge.

The writ was entered on Monday in the Supreme Court register by Mr. Hall's law offices, Hall & Associates.

The entry refers to the Bermuda Constitution and the Administration of Justice (Prerogative Writs) Act 1978.

It also mentions two search warrants, dated October 21 and 22, believed to have been issued by Mr. Judge.

And it refers to an application for orders of "certiorari and mandamus''.

Last week it was disclosed Police raided a Front Street law firm.

The Royal Gazette understood the firm to be Mr. Hall's offices in the Emporium Building.

Yesterday Mr. Hall said it was "premature'' to talk about the writ.

Mr. Edwards was off the Island, and Police said they had no comment to make.

A legal source told The Royal Gazette he believed Mr. Hall's suit was an attempt to quash the search warrants.

"I can only speculate he is seeking a judicial review of the circumstances behind the search warrants.''
