Hands of Love holding Help Haiti Relief fund-raiser today
A local charity which has helped feed, clothe and shelter Bermudians since 1990, will hold a fund-raiser for the victims of last week's earthquake in Haiti.
Fern Wade, the founder of Hands of Love said she hopes to raise $3,000 at the charity's "Help Haiti Relief" fund-raising event today.
"We have already collected a lot of clothing and shoes for the victims," she said. "What they need in Haiti right now is money.
"We will concentrate on monetary donations for now and send the shoes and clothes over when they ask for those type of things."
Ms. Wade is asking anyone who wishes to make a donation to stop by the Hands of Love headquarters located in Camp Hill, Warwick across from the Heron Bay Market Place.
She said: "People can just drive into the parking lot and we will be there between 8.30 and 5.30 – ready to accept any donations."
Ms. Fern added that all of the money raised will be donated to the Bermuda Red Cross.
