Helicopter flies ill woman from cruise ship to Island

A 70-year-old woman was flown to hospital by helicopter after falling ill on a cruise ship.The senior was aboard <I>Braemar</I> about 135 miles east of Bermuda, heading east following a stay on the Island, when she complained of abdominal pains late on Wednesday night.The US Coast Guard located a nearby navy ship which had a helicopter on board, and was able to take the victim to L.F. Wade International Airport by about 4.45 a.m. yesterday.

The senior was aboard Braemar about 135 miles east of Bermuda, heading east following a stay on the Island, when she complained of abdominal pains late on Wednesday night.

The US Coast Guard located a nearby navy ship which had a helicopter on board, and was able to take the victim to L.F. Wade International Airport by about 4.45 a.m. yesterday.

She was then transferred to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
