Yesterday Minister David Burch said the Ministry of Labour, Home Affairs and Housing will be holding a workshop entitled "Building the Employee of the Future — Right Here, Right Now" next week for the Island's unemployed and underemployed.

At the workshop the Department will provide the following services: job placement, job training, career guidance, skills assessments, resume writing and preparation for interviews. There will also be representatives from various Government departments.

Sen. Burch added: "I urge Bermuda's unemployed and underemployed to attend next week's workshop and start building themselves as the employee of the future. We can all be very insular and think that this downturn is only affecting us in Bermuda but it is having an impact worldwide and we have not escaped it."

The workshop will take place on 28 January from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bermuda College Gymnasium.
