Ms Ann Pascua left her Southampton apartment situated near the vacant Naval Annex on Friday morning and returned later to find her belongings outside.

A letter attached to the door said all the locks had been changed and Ms Pascua found someone else had moved in.

Ms Pascua, who recently lost her painting job, said she had never "defaulted on her rent'' although she admitted she was two months late behind when she was forced out.

"I have been renting from him since 1989, though I never signed a lease,'' she said of her landlord.

"I housesat for him in Burnt House Hill though the arrangement was that I also had to pay rent.

"He moved me to six different apartments including the Waterville Vacation Apartments in Southampton where I have been living since August last year.

"Each place he moved me, I had to fix up to make it livable. One time he had me in a little back room that he later made into an apartment. Then he moved me to the Waterville apartment.'' Landlord Mr. Morris Figueiredo of Burnt House Hill, Warwick, yesterday declined to comment, only saying: "If she wants to pursue this that's up to her.'' Ms Pascua said: "I do owe him for two months rent . But I have never damaged any of his property though he is still holding my video and TV.

"In June he gave me a letter saying that he did not like my attitude because I was a troublemaker.

"I did report him to the Health Department once because he let the (cess) pit overflow. He then started doing things to annoy me.'' Ms Pascua also accused Mr. Figueiredo of walking in her home when she was not there and removing the air conditioner.

"He even came to the hospital when I was in there recovering from an injury to my hand to annoy me,'' she added.

"I have no clothes. I have been living at my mother's and my daughter's until I can get myself straight.'' Ms Ann Pascua.
