Mirrors participants to help out at WindReach
Young adults who have benefited from the Mirrors programme will give something back to the community this weekend when they help out at the WindReach Recreational facility for special needs children.
Social Rehabilitation Minister Dale Butler said yesterday that more than 140 Mirrors participants would provide community service there and by cleaning up the nearby Railway Trail on Saturday.
The Mirrors initiative was launched by Government last year to give "at risk" youngsters aged between 15 and 18 the chance to change their mindsets and take responsibility for their lives with the help of volunteers from the community. It has now been extended to include those up to the age of 21. Mr. Butler said the volunteers "have truly become the village that is needed to raise our children".
