No plans to demolish HSBC bank building at Albuoy's Point
There are no plans to demolish the HSBC Bank of Bermuda building at Albuoy's Point, despite rumours to the contrary.
And the property will continue to operate as the bank headquarters even with the recent opening of the new Harbourview facility on Front Street.
According to an HSBC spokesperson, the building will house several of the bank's local divisions.
"The head office will not be demolished and all floors of the building, aside from the main banking hall, have been fully renovated," she said.
Rumours that the building is up for sale or soon will be up for sale are also incorrect, the spokesperson added.
"HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited owns the building, and it is not currently being offered for sale. We have several divisions located at the headquarters."
