"Everything is mashed on the bike,'' Mr. Craig Astwood told The Royal Gazette yesterday. "It wasn't a pleasant day.'' The 27-year-old, who was working on demolishing the old Devonshire Academy, parked his Yamaha V80 cycle nearby.

In the morning, "I had parked my bike about five feet away from the container up there,'' Mr. Astwood said. When he returned at lunch, "I didn't see my bike. It was underneath the container.'' Mr. Astwood said a forklift operator had dumped the container on his bike.

"The guy said he didn't see the bike,'' Mr. Astwood said. "If anybody can't see a big, blue bike, there's something wrong.'' Mr. Astwood said he was provided with a rental bike as a replacement, but was still working out who would pay to replace the cycle.
