Roland is no stranger to the courts
A young woman convicted of beating a teenager girl with a rock on her head is no stranger to the courts
Trimiea Roland, who is pregnant, was found guilty yesterday, along with Garrina Cann, of attacking Brittany Symonds.
The 17-year-old had refused to let Cann, 21, use her cell phone.
Roland, 22, beat the victim with an 18-inch long piece of wood causing Miss Symonds to receive multiple staples and stitches to her head and on her back.
Roland was put into custody during the trial after being late to court on more than one occasion.
She has convictions for dishonesty and violently resisting arrest.
Her address was listed as Teen Haven in Pembroke. At the time of the incident she lived at the Gulfstream emergency housing complex in Southside, St. David's.
The jury was also told by Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons that Roland "has an association with the Sunshine League".
Both defendants were students at CedarBridge Academy.
Cann's brother Gary "Fingaz" Cann Jr. was murdered last December his death was one of three shooting incidents that took place in the span of 12 hours.
Mr. Cann was shot on December 16 at 10.30 p.m. at the Soundview Road, Somerset home of his girlfriend Sancha Durham.
A second man was shot in the hand at 1.35 a.m. on December 17 outside Warwick Lanes bowling alley. A third shooting occurred at 10.30 a.m. outside Court Street store C&R Discount.
Cann and Roland were remanded into custody yesterday until October 4 for sentencing.
