The victim, a 28-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck after he refused to allow the assailant to enter the show.

The security guard was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he received four stitches.

The assailant was described as a brown-skinned man of slim build, 5' 10'' tall with a shaved head and in his early 20s. He was wearing a red top and blue shorts.

POLICE TRY TO ARREST JET-SKI DRIVER CRM Police try to arrest jet-ski driver Marine Police were involved in a high speed chase on Monday at 6.30 p.m. as they tried to arrest a jet-ski operator near Watford Bridge.

Officers noted the jet-ski travelling at excessive speed in a restricted area.

They approached the rider and it was established that he was wanted in connection with other offences.

The rider attempted to flee the scene and the Marine Police pursued him. The rider sped through areas where people were swimming and eventually beached the jet-ski on Daniels Head Beach in Sandys Parish and escaped.

The jet-ski was recovered by the Police.

Any witnesses or persons having information relating to this incident are asked to contact P.c. Keith Senior of the Marine Police on 295-0011.

MAN ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED WOMAN CRM Man allegedly assaulted woman A 27-year-old Pembroke man was arrested for assault, following an altercation with three females at Albouy's Point early on Monday morning.

One of the females was allegedly struck in the mouth with a helmet. The woman collapsed and the man tried to escape, but Police eventually apprehended him at the Esso Supermart on Richmond Road in Pembroke.

The female was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but was later released.

AIRPLANE MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING FLY Airplane makes emergency landing An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Bermuda at 8.35 p.m.

on Monday.

The flight was en route from Barbados to New York when an 11- year-old boy suffered a collapsed lung and an asthma attack.

The airplane landed safely and the boy and his mother were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

The flight later continued to New York.

BARNS BURNS DOWN IN ST. DAVID'S FIR Barns burn down in St. David's There was no monetary loss when two wooden barns in St. David's completely burned to the ground on Sunday.

The early morning blaze, which saw firefighters spend several hours extinguishing the fire, gutted two wooden barns and caused some minimal damage to a trailer at 53 Texas Road in St. David's.

While the cause of the blaze has not been determined, a fire official said no investigation has been launched. He explained that because the owner of the barns claims they were of no monetary value, no probe is necessary.

No one was injured in the blaze which began at 5:40 a.m.

Fast action by firefighters on Monday night saw a blaze totally extinguished in less than two minutes.

Four firefighters responded to a call of a palm tree ablaze on the grounds of Paget Primary School on Ord Road at 6:38 p.m.

Fire officials say it took less than two minutes for the fire to be extinguished.

A cause has not been determined.

AWARD FOR DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM AWD Award for Department of Tourism Bermuda has scooped an award for its efforts in rewarding hardworking employees.

The Island's Department of Tourism has received the US-based Incentive Magazine's Platinum Partner Award 1999.

It came after a ballot of 40,000 businessmen voted for Bermuda's success in supplying services and events as bonuses to workers.

And the department received twice as many votes as the first runner-up.

The award comes after recent incentive events held here received widespread publicity in the US.

More than 1,500 people were treated to Bermuda by companies in Boston on the two days -- bringing hundreds of thousands of dollars of business to the Island.

Tourism director Gary Phillips said: "We are a very hard-working team and it is good to know that our efforts are recognised in the industry.'' ANGER MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME CON Anger management programme The Family Resource Network Charitable Trust is hosting a media conference this Friday at the Family Resource Network.

The new anger management programme will be able to be used in schools and parenting classes.

Anyone can learn this "Heart Math'' technique which helps just when your tolerance is running low, which makes it "an important skill for adults to have''.

The conference will start at 10 a.m. at the Family Resource Network on Mount Hill, Pembroke.

FEMALE TOURIST ROBBED OF CHAIN CRM Female tourist robbed of chain A female tourist has reported to Police that a dreadlocked man ripped a gold chain from her neck and then ran off on Saturday night.

The woman told officers that as she walked with a male friend opposite the City Hall car park on Church Street, another, unknown male approached her in a threatening manner.

The victim said her assailant mumbled something then grabbed her necklace snapping the chain before running off with it.

The man is described as being dark skinned, 6' 1'', slim build, narrow features, in his mid to late 20s with dreadlocks and a goatee beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark shorts and sneakers.

TWO SAILORS IN FIGHT WITH LOCALS CRM Two sailors in fight with locals A mini-war is alleged to have broken out last week at the Esso City Service Station in Hamilton.

Apparently a fight broke out inside the building between two local men and two sailors from HMS Marlborough which resulted in the two sailors visiting King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with facial injuries.

One sailor sustained a broken nose and the other suffered a broken jaw.

The incident is under Police investigation.

MAN HANDS OVER CASH TO POLICE POL Man hands over cash to Police It turns out that honest souls still exist.

St. George's Police were surprised in the east end station by a cash- wielding Good Samaritan around 3.10 p.m. last week.

The 48-year-old St. George's man then proceeded to hand over the $250 in cash that he had just found on York Street.
