The Upper House will discuss motions to add the post of Attorney General to the list of Ministers and MPs and to add around $91,000 to the basic MP salary, bringing Mrs. Browne Evans up to the rate paid to previous, non-political, holders of the post.

Also on the agenda for today are three items relating to air affairs -- two airport regulations and an Act to allow mortgages of aircraft and aircraft engines to be held in Bermuda.

The two regulation amendments concern airport operations, substituting the title "manager'' for "director'' to take account of shifts in responsibility.

HOMES BURGLED CRM Homes burgled Thieves were hard at work during the Bermuda Day holiday.

Police yesterday reported that $970 was stolen from a Hamilton Parish home over the holiday.

The Summit View Drive residence was broken into with thieves stealing the cash from the bedroom.

At a private residence on Hillsdale Avenue in Pembroke, thieves forced entry into the home and after searching the residence stole $300 in cash.

During this same period a residence on First Avenue was entered by thieves who stole $30 in mixed change and a Sony CD/Cassette player.

COMIC SHOP HIT CRM Comic shop hit Thieves escaped with five video cassettes, A Bug's Life movie action figures, and $400 in cash from the Heroes for Hire comic book store on Princess Street.

And a Park Road, Hamilton hair salon was also unlawfully entered during the holiday.

Culprits forced entry and stole $305 from the cash register.

In a similar incident at a doctors' office on Berry Hill Road, Paget, thieves forced entry and searched, although nothing is believed to have been taken.

And an unattended Hyundai Excel motorcar was broken into on Glebe Road, Pembroke. Thieves smashed the rear view window and stole a Nokia Cellular telephone valued at $450.

PARTY BLOCKS STREET TFC Party blocks street A section of Court Street was closed off to traffic on Monday evening after holiday revellers took their party to the road.

Police were involved in crowd control as 5,000 people spilled onto Court Street, between Elliott Street and Dundonald Street, at 9 p.m.

BIKE RIDER INJURED AC Bike rider injured A male motorcyclist was slightly hurt after losing control of his vehicle at the junction of Court and Church streets on Monday.

The accident happened at 9 p.m., according to Police.

An ambulance attended and the man was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

VESSELS IN DISTRESS RAO RES Vessels in distress Two vessels in distress made it safely to shore during a busy Bermuda Day holiday.

Harbour Radio reported the Swallon had broken down in the Great Sound at 5.50 p.m. with three people on board. The Destiny towed it to safety.

And the Jackpot radioed in with a possible fire on board, close to Ferry Reach. An engine had run out of fuel and was smoking heavily. The boat, with eight people on board, made it to dock.

WRONG NUMBER IN BOOK FIR Wrong number in book The telephone number listed in the blue pages of the new telephone directory for the Port Royal Fire Station in Southampton is wrong.

Chief Fire Officer Reginald Rawlins said the non-emergency number to call for the Port Royal Station is 292-5555.

But all emergency incidents and special service incidents should be reported via 911 -- regardless of the location of the incident.
