Stories in Saturday and yesterday's Royal Gazette stating that a box of documents relating the Bermuda Fire & Marine Co. Ltd. case had been discovered

In fact two separate discoveries of documents were made. The documents were subsequently turned over to Bermuda Fire's liquidators last week, lawyers appearing for Conyers Dill & Pearman said.

One discovery was of documents on microfilm at Conyers Dill & Pearman.

Geoffrey Vos, lawyer for Conyers Dill & Pearman, said the microfilm documents were discovered during research.

Apparently the records, which were from John Collis' file, had not been printed out in full by mistake in 1993 as had been instructed. One of the documents apparently shows his father Charles Collis knew of a Cooper & Lines report which advised splitting off Bermuda Fire's domestic business to BF&M Ltd. so that potential creditors couldn't get at the profitable assets, liquidators allege.

The second discovery made last week was of a box of documents belonging to Charles Collis. The documents had been found by Mr. Collis' secretary in his office after he died last year. The box was turned over to Conyers Dill & Pearman and was then given to Mr. Collis' lawyer at Appleby Spurling & Kempe on the belief these were protected by attorney-client privilege.

Appleby Spurling & Kempe went through the documents and found that some were not protected.
