Roar: A boy sleeps in front of a giant Chinese Happy New Year sign in Manila's Chinatown, Philippines. In Bermuda, Premier Dr. Ewart Brown has marked the Year of the Tiger by calling on residents to show tiger-like toughness during challenging economic times.
Premier Ewart Brown is calling on Bermuda's residents to show tiger-like courage as they battle through tough economic times in the Chinese Year of the Tiger.
Wishing a Happy New Year to the Island's Chinese residents and visitors, the Premier said in a statement: "Kung Hei Fat Choy."
He stated: "This year, 2010, is the Year of the Tiger. The tiger is a symbol of courage. As we move forward in these still-challenging economic times, I want to remind us all that we have faced many challenges in the past with courage.
"As a result, we pulled through. With courage and fearless action — qualities of the tiger — we will do so again."
