Tourism marketing gets more money, but there's nothing for UK and Europe sales
With the Department of Tourism's budget increasing 19 percent to $38 million some sections saw large increases in the funds allocated to them while others saw their budgets drastically cut.
Here is a breakdown of the areas which saw the biggest changes between the 2009 budget and this year's budget.
l The advertising's budget jumped 71 percent and was allocated $14.56 million, up from $12.6 million.
l Direct marketing also saw its budget rise, by 116 percent. This year it has been allocated an additional $1.4 million, bringing the total to $2.7 million.
l Sports marketing accounts for $1 million of the increase. The Ministry will spend $2.5 million this year on sport marketing, up from $1.2 million in 2009 and $1.4 million in 2008.
l An additional $1.47 million was allocated to the Department's administration budget, up 71 percent.
l The travel budget for the Ministry of Tourism rose 37 percent to $865,0000.
l The entire budget for UK and Europe sales was cut, last year it was been allocated $1.3 million this year it was allocated nothing.
l The Sales team has also seen its budget slashed 42 percent, it was allocated $1.4 million this year.
