Trial starts for trio over machete attack
Three people charged over a machete attack at Fort Hamilton are due to go on trial tomorrow.
McLee Smith, 32, and Gilroy Brangman, 36, both from Sandys, are accused of wounding Andre Blackstock with intent to do grievous bodily harm on November 8, 2009.
Smith alone is charged with having a bladed article a sword at Fort Hamilton car park and aggravated vehicle taking involving a car which was damaged.
Diante Trim, 23, from St. George's, is accused of taking a motor vehicle without authority and using threatening words to Neseyah Jones: "Girl, I'm gonna bust your ass, my man is gonna kill your man."
A jury of six men and six women was selected to hear the case yesterday. However, Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves told them the matter will not begin until tomorrow morning.
He explained the case involves allegations that the complainant was attacked by a machete in the area of Fort Hamilton. He added that a car belonging to the complainant was taken, and threats were made.
Smith, Brangman and Trim deny the charges.
