The United Bermuda Party's Blueprint for Bermuda's Future -- which is to be distributed as an insert in tomorrow's Royal Gazette -- would be released at an afternoon session with the news media, a source said yesterday.

The document -- alluded to in a letter the Hon. Sir John Swan mailed to all Island voters -- is said to detail the party's stand on drugs, crime, the workplace, discrimination, and other issues.

Sir John was to return this morning from Washington DC, where he met with American military and Congressional leaders in a bid to extend the life of the US Naval Air Station at St. David's.

Speculation is still rife that the Premier will issue the writ this week for an October 7 election. Others put the date a week later.

A source said it was very unlikely that Sir John would call the election today, because he would not wish to mix political party business with the business of Government.

Meanwhile, the Progressive Labour Party said it was still a question of strategy as to when its platform would be made public.

It would be unveiled no later than next week, when Opposition Leader Mr.

Frederick Wade was scheduled to give a speech on the subject to a local service club, a PLP official said.
