Daval Javar Smith, 17, pleaded guilty to his charge of disobeying the commands of a bus conductor.

His friend, Undray James Lightbourne, 16, pleaded guilty to using offensive words.

The trouble started at 4.10 p.m., on a bus filled with Sandys Secondary School Students. Smith blew an air-horn, startling the driver, Tiffany Baxter, said prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James.

Baxter stopped the bus to confront Smith, telling him to leave the bus. A passing Police car was stopped, and the incident reported. Police boarded the bus, but Smith had climbed out through a window, reported Sgt. James.

Lightbourne was then heard swearing about the Police.

Smith climbed back into the bus through the rear window. The two were taken to Somerset Police Station and searched.

Lightbourne was on probation until February, 1995, said Sgt. James.

Smith told the court he had been told to apologise to the bus driver.

"Couldn't you have done it out of your own heart?'' asked Acting Magistrate the Wor. Arthur Hodgson.

"I could have said it on my own, but I was approached before that,'' Smith responded.

A man, who did not give his name, stood up to say he would pay both defendants' $75 fines.
