Bermudian charged with US shooting murder, while co-accused reportedly commits suicide
Bermudian Andre Trott has been charged with murder following a New Jersey shooting — and his co-accused has reportedly committed suicide in jail.
Trott, 29, of Sandys, and Cadre Williams, 31, of Conley, Georgia, were arrested after the killing of Shakir McCray, 31, outside an apartment complex in North Brunswick on Thursday morning.
Trott was already charged with three counts of eluding Police and two counts of aggravated assault for injuring motorists during a chase as he allegedly drove Williams away from the scene.
New Jersey Real-Time News yesterday reported he has now also been charged with the murder of Mr. McCray.
Also yesterday, reports in America said Williams, who was already charged with murder, eluding Police and weapons offences, has apparently taken his own life. An investigation is underway but more information was not available yesterday.
New Jersey authorities say the pair fled in a car moments after Williams shot Mr. McCray.
They have described Trott as a high raking member of a street gang and are investigating what all three men were doing at a North Brunswick apartment complex Thursday morning when the shooting took place.
