Breaking News: Police arrest man over double shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with Friday’s shooting that left two men in hospital with gun shot wounds.

Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, acting Assistant Commissioner James Howard said: “Approximately 6 p.m. Friday, Police attended a report of gunshots in the area of King Street and Middletown Lane in Pembroke.

“As a result, a 24-year-old Pembroke man and a 31-year-old Devonshire man were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

“The Devonshire man has since been released from the hospital and the Pembroke man remains on a general ward.”

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact Acting Detective Chief Inspector Calvin Smith at the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011.
