Breaking News: Weather warning issued for tomorrow
A weather warning was again issued this afternoon (Friday, February 12) as forecasters say the Island could get hurricane force gusts tomorrow.
The Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) said the Island can expect to experience severe and unsettled weather conditions tomorrow and it is anticipated that by early evening storm force winds are expected to be between 40 and 50 knots, with hurricane force gusts of up to 65 knots.
The Causeway will be closely monitored by the Police and the Ministry of Works and Engineering.
The Minister of Labour, Home Affairs and Housing, David Burch encouraged the public to take the necessary precautions in advance of tomorrow, such as securing all boats, as well as securing outdoor furniture, garbage bins and any other items that could be blown about by the wind.
He also encouraged all motorists, particularly cyclists to use "extreme caution" when moving about the Island tomorrow.
