Jackson strengthened hold on constituency in 2007
Pembroke South West is a UBP stronghold where elections are consistently called in the party's favour. In the 2007 election LaVerne Furbert, the PLP candidate, had even conceded the seat to UBP MP Louise Jackson weeks before the actual election. Ms. Furbert said she regretted running.
This led to an overwhelming win for the United Bermuda Party's Louise Jackson who closed on her second term in Parliament.
She left LaVerne Furbert behind in the polls with a healthy lead of 711 votes to Ms. Furbert's 145. It was an even stronger margin than the 2003 election.
In 2003, Mrs. Jackson won 81.83 percent of the vote, defeating Neville T. Darrell.
In 2007 there were three spoiled ballots. Voter turnout was 859.
