Motorcyclist injured in crash

A Devonshire man was injured when his motorcycle was struck from the rear. Police attended the accident on Tuesday morning on South Road near Warwick Camp. It was reported that both vehicles were travelling west with the motorcycle in front of the car.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old Devonshire man, stopped at the junction with Warwick Camp and indicated his intention to turn in the premises. The westbound car collided with the rear of the cycle ejecting the rider.

He complained of back pain and headache and sustained abrasions to his left ankle and was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

The cycle ended up colliding with an eastbound car. The drivers of both cars were not injured. The motorcycle received rear end damage, while the westbound car received extensive front end damage and the eastbound car received damage to its right side.

That same afternoon, Police attended another road accident on Harrington Sound Road in Smith's Parish near the junction with Manor House Drive.

It appeared that a truck was travelling west on Harrington Sound Road when the vehicle collided with the Manor House Bridge, causing extensive damage to the bridge and the cab of the truck.

The driver, a 47-year-old St. George's man, sustained a small cut to his nose. Inquiries into both incidents are underway.
