Proposed Port Royal restaurant to be called 64 Degrees

Fresco's Group boss Claudio Vigilante is planning a restaurant at the revamped Port Royal Golf Course.

The venue, 64 Degrees, will form part of the Island's golfing flagship which has been undergoing a $14 million redevelopment over the past couple of years.

A restaurant licence application has been made under the name of Royal Cuisine Limited and will be subject to a hearing in Magistrates' Court on September 8, at 9.15 a.m.

The completed Port Royal is set to host the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from October 19 to 21.

It has previously been reported that it will feature a restaurant and bar, pro shop and locker rooms. Restoration work has also included re-routing two holes, creating new bunkers, a computerised irrigation system, and the planting of TifEagle on redesigned greens.

Bermuda Cedar trees also replaced Casuarinas and the course was lengthened to 6,842 yards the longest on the Island.

Staff putting together the finishing touches include the four Uighurs who moved to Bermuda from Guantánamo Bay in June.
