RAIN AT LAST

After weeks of no rain and water tanks running low finally Bermuda received some much needed tank rain yesterday morning. The storms brought more than an inch of rain yesterday, but the Island remains well short of the amount normally accumulated by this time of year.
While a day of "tank rain" helped ease the drought yesterday, the Island is expected to dry up again over the weekend.
The Bermuda Weather Service reported that around 1.26 inches of rain fell yesterday as a cold front brought thunderstorms and heavy showers across the Island, bringing the total for the year to 19.24 inches.
However, following one of the driest June's on record, the Island is still more than seven inches short of the average for this time of the year.
And while there may be some more showers and thunderstorms this morning, a high pressure is expected to move over the Island, bringing sun – and no rain – through at least Tuesday.
