Resident went to King's Square with photo he took during 1953 visit

Martin Cusack with a picture of the Queen and Prince Philip which he took when they made their first visit to Bermuda in 1953.

Martin Cusack saw the Queen on her first visit to Bermuda in 1953 and snapped a picture as the young Queen and Prince Philip drove in their car.

He then turned the photo into a beautifully framed black and white snapshot of the Royal couple.

And yesterday, Mr. Cusack brought the photo with him to King's Square, in St. George's, to pay homage to the Queen as she arrived on the Island for the start of a three-day visit.

He sat behind a barricade with his wife Maureen anxious to see the Queen he once saw years ago.

Mr. Cusack said: "It was taken from Point Finger Road a long time ago. I made it myself. The picture has hung in our living room ever since.

"I was very excited. We saw her when she came here in 1962 or 1964. We have also seen her in London."
