Somerset care home is given planning go-ahead
A care home for eight seniors has been given the go-ahead by planning officials.
'Socateau Ledges' at 60 West Side Road, Somerset, is to be transformed into the 'Best Days Elder Care' facility, after being granted planning permission.
The one-acre property will house eight seniors in four bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. It will also include an office and car parking spaces for six cars and six motorcycles.
The Development Applications Board (DAB) granted planning approval after the development met the criteria of the Department of Health and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service.
Prior to construction, applicant Rosalind Ray must also gain a building permit.
Ms Ray plans to create an activities programme for her clients, including aerobics, gardening, singing, bingo and a book club.
