A Bermuda Yacht Service tug tows the US vessel Barbara along Ferry Reach to dry dock in Dockyard. The private boat was forced to make birth in Bermuda after being caught in the foul weather over the last couple of weeks after her enginges recived damage.
A 60-foot motor yacht called Barbara from Chebeague Island in Maine was yesterday being repaired after its rudder broke down last month.
The vessel was 120 nautical miles north of Bermuda on December 9 when it first encountered problems with the steering and managed to make its own way to the Island. The Barbara was unable to manoeuvre into the St. George's Harbour without proper steering and was towed in by a Bermuda Yacht Service tug on December 11.
Since then the vessel has been waiting for repair parts, explained a spokesperson for the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre.
