Thief returns stolen computer to community centre, leaves 'sorry' note

Thieves who broke into and robbed the St. George's Community Centre have returned one of the stolen items with a note saying: "Sorry, we all make mistakes."

St. George's residents were outraged last month to find that the community centre, frequented by children, had been burgled.

The culprit or culprits broke into the centre sometime on the evening of November 18 and stole a Sony television, a Sony DVD player and two Dell laptops.

Several days after the theft was reported, former Premier and St. George's MP Dame Jennifer Smith, donated a flat screen television, Blue Ray disc player and a Nintendo Wii video game system to the centre.

Now, a month later, one of the Dell computers has been returned to the centre with a note attached.

On Thursday Police arrived at the St. George's Community Centre after getting a report that one of the previously stolen Dell computers and a computer keyboard had been returned to the community centre sometime earlier that week.

A note found with the computer said: "Sorry, we all make mistakes".

None of the other stolen items have been found.
