Youth peace rally tonight takes on extra relevancy
Youth have organised a peace rally tonight in Par-La-Ville Park in an attempt to unify the community.
Bermuda Youth Peace Builders, a group of 15 public and private school students between the ages of 14 and 18, will descend on the park tonight between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The event was planned months ago, but is even more relevant today as back to back shootings have rocked the Island starting on Tuesday evening.
The youth who organised the event are peer mentors with the YouthNet programme and are hoping at least 500 people will support their cause.
Reneka Smith the Programming Coordinator at YouthNet said the event was "meant to give young people something positive to do."
"We want people to realise life is about choices. We want people to shift their thinking so they know there's more than just their small corner of the Island," she said.
