Repairs to trucks delays trash pickup
Created: Mar 04, 2011 09:05 AM
Broken trash trucks meant garbage was not collected in the east end on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Public Works said it had collected the east end trash yesterday and went on to collect the west end trash a few hours later than usual yesterday.
A spokesman said: “The Waste Management Section is working on a new collections schedule that will see garbage collected five days a week rather than four, the current arrangement. The new schedule will lead to operational efficiencies.
Government also urged people to recycle and place tin, aluminum and glass into blue bags for collection.
