Warwick house set to become nursing home
Plans to change a Warwick home into a nursing home have been given planning approval to move forward.
The Serenity Gardens Nursing Home, on Glenwood Park Lane, will be able to house as many as 18 seniors when it opens to the public.
Environmental Health Officer Carla Peets has advised that before it opens, an elevator or similar device should be installed, along with a gate or fence around a swimming pool on the premises.
According to the Planning application, business owners Lynnee Tanner and Carla Lowe intend to use the home to provide care for seniors who require daily supervision or intellectual and cognitive stimulation.
“Our facility will provide an environment approximating as closely as possible the patterns and conditions of everyday life in mainstream society to which the clients were accustomed to in their respective environments,” the application reads.
Each of the building’s five bedrooms would be used to house two or three clients, while two dens in the house could also be adapted into three bedrooms.
