Two men injured in shooting incidents

Police are investigating a shooting on North Shore Road.

Two men were injured in separate shooting incidents, poilce said yesterday.On Friday at about 9.10pm police and first responders attended a reported road traffic accident where a person was injured on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish area.A Police spokesman said: “However, subsequent inquiries determined that the collision occurred following a confirmed firearm incident where a Pembroke man in his 30s sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. As a result, officers cordoned off the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area.”The second incident happened at around 3.20am yesterday on North Shore Road, in Devonshire.The spokesman added: “A Devonshire man in his 20s sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. As a result, officers cordoned off the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area which resulted in items of interest being recovered which will be forensically examined.“A full investigation into both incidents is underway. Any witnesses or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011 or the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”On Wednesday a Parks Department staff member was the target if gunmen who opened fire on Paget roundabout in broad daylight.
