Report of trouble in Somerset

Police were called to Hog Bay in Sandys last night after reports of trouble close to Arnold’s Maximart supermarket.

A customer who was in the store told

The Royal Gazette a young man ran in at about 9pm claiming he’d been threatened.

The customer, who asked not to be named, said police cars attended the scene and officers spoke to the manager on duty at the store.

“A young man ran in holding himself and saying they threatened to shoot him. He looked about 18. Customers were frightened.”

Maximart duty manager Jim Cobak said today he was unable to provide any information as a different manager was working last night.

“I don’t have any notes [on it]. I’m not sure of all the details. I wouldn’t want to elaborate.”

Police have not yet made public any details of the incident.
