Lawrence Scott to run for PLP in Warwick South East

Lawrence Scott has followed in his father's footsteps to be named the Progressive Labour Party's election candidate for Warwick South East.Mr Scott, 31, was today unveiled as the candidate for Constituency 24, taking the reins from his father, former Premier Alex Scott.The 71-year-old is to retire from politics.He told the press conference that Constituency 24 was “more than a number, it's my life” and vowed to act on the concerns of his constituents.Mr Scott said he brought “youthful, excitement and energy” to the PLP and explained how he had picked up plenty of lessons from his father.He was joined at today's press conference by his father, mother Olga Scott, Premier Paula Cox, as well as other family members and friends.
