Injured flight attendant is back at work
A flight attendant who scalded her face on a flight, causing the plane to be diverted to Bermuda, has recovered well according to her employer.The woman was injured as she was preparing food on a charter flight from Barbados to the London on Thursday.As reported in yesterday’s edition of The Royal Gazette, the plane had to be diverted to Bermuda so she could seek hospital treatment.In a statement yesterday, a spokeswoman for Thomson Airways, which owns the plane, said: “Shortly after take off an accident took place which led to a small amount of hot water from a cup being splashed in the cabin crew member’s eye.“Following the accident, the captain took the decision to divert the aircraft to Bermuda in line with usual protocol and the crew member disembarked to receive medical attention.“The aircraft departed Bermuda at 11.30pm (local time) and arrived in London Gatwick at 10.30am (UK time). The crew member recovered well and has now resumed full duties.“We would like to reassure customers that incidents of this type are very rare and that the safety of our crew and passengers is of paramount importance to us.”
