Three road accidents over weekend

Two cars crashed into walls and a van collided with a motorcycle in road accidents between Friday and Sunday.In the first incident, a car hit a wall and overturned on Middle Road, Warwick, near its junction with Tamarind Vale, at 3.10pm on Friday.The vehicle was extensively damaged but the 63-year-old Southampton man driving it was not injured.At 11.10am on Saturday, a 47-year-old St George’s man suffered a leg injury after his motorcycle collided with a van on Middle Road, Devonshire, near its junction with Vesey Street.He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial for treatment. The van driver was not injured, but both vehicles were damaged.In the third accident, a car hit a wall on Middle Road, Southampton, near Jews Bay, at 12.30pm on Sunday.The 59-year-old Warwick woman driving the vehicle was not injured but the car and wall were badly damaged and the incident led to traffic delays.Meanwhile, police said a 37-year-old Warwick man failed an alco-analyser test after officers arrested him when he drove his car erratically on Middle Road, Paget, near its junction with Chapel Road, on Sunday at 3.30am.He was one of two men arrested for impaired driving over the weekend; police say they also arrested 16 people for outstanding warrants and carried out liquor licence checks at licensed premises throughout the Island.
