23-year-old in ICU after crash

A 23-year-old man was tonight in intensive care after a car hit a utility pole.A Police spokesman said: "Around 5pm on Saturday, February 25, police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle collision on North Shore Road, in Pembroke, near the junction with Blackwatch Pass."It appears that a four wheeled ATV was traveling along North Shore Road when the vehicle collided with a utility pole."The driver and passenger, a 23-year-old Pembroke man and a 23-year-old Warwick man respectively, were injured."Both victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment."At last check, the Pembroke man was in the Intensive Care Unit while the Warwick man was on a general ward."Inquiries are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision or anyone with any information to contact Pc Cecilia Rogers on 295-0011."
